Home for the Holidays

I cannot think of anything that instills the true meaning of the holidays in me more than family. This holiday season was spent with family and friends alike. From peaceful farm land in Steven's Point, Wisconsin, to the journey over the river and through the woods to my grandparents house in Clintonville, Wisconsin. Each destination bringing happiness, laughter and plenty, I mean plenty, of food and drinks. A little bowling here, some champagne there and of course our animal companions accompanying us along the way. Capturing as many memories as possible in this Instagram collage.

The holidays are more often than not filled with delicious delicacies. Smorgasbords of desserts tend to make up most of our diet when Christmas roles around.
Today I discovered a new treat that may take the cake as my new favorite holiday treat:

Christmas Cosmetics

With the conclusion of 2012 quickly approaching and the starting of a brand new year, it is essential to swap out those old, used cosmetics for new shades and colors. Fresh beauty tools to create a renewed you with the dawning of a new year.

Choosing products can be time consuming and confusing because of the various brands, all while trying to find cosmetics that won't break the bank. Here are some popular products that I use and love with an affordable price but still high quality ingredients.

A little help from e.l.f. is an affordable way to freshen up your look for the new year. No, I don't mean elf as in Santa's little helper, but the cosmetic line that enhances your natural beauty with products for your eyes, lips and face.

Here are some of my favorites:

These brushes are $1-$3 depending on size. For the cost they are good quality and durable.
e.l.f. lipstick is only $1! They carry twelve different shades. Long-lasting lip color to fit every occasion.

Eyeshadow pallets run for $5. 32 different shades to create many different looks at an affordable price.
Shopping at stores like Macy's and Sephora for cosmetics can often time be draining on the wallet. This is why it is important to pay attention to the weekly specials. Determining if a "sale" is actually a deal can be the hardest part. When a sale is occuring make sure the percent off is taken off the item you want to purchase, not just the sale items.

Here are a few bargains I came across at Sephora to give yourself a fresh look:

This kit is worth $125 and right now it is on sale for $11. That is a sale hard to pass up!
SEPHORA COLLECTION - Breast Cancer Awareness Makeup Palette

Sephora Harmony gloss is $3 and fits in any clutch or purse perfect!
